New York, NY March 2001 -- An in your face title and lyrics to match, Mexicano777 is ready smack-down the nay-sayers as the new king of Latin hip-hop grooves. His American debut, GODS ASSASSINS," will be released by SMA ENTERTAINMENT in March.

The debut single, BALUMBALANG" featuring KRS-One, is already tearing up the dance floors of clubs from coast to coast.

My hope is that my music will inspire young Latinos and others to persevere over rough times and not succumb to the distractions that can tear you from a positive and fruitful life," Mexicano said in a statement from Puerto Rico. While I have been caught in many situations that could have compromised my aspirations, I never lost sight to make my dreams come true."

While many may try to dismiss Mexicano777 as another thug rapper," the power of his words are certain to change the opinions of many would be critics.

The album features lyrics that will make people stand up and take notice. On Tears of Blood," Mexicano tells of the times people have tried to thwart his efforts to succeed: Bullets penetrating my soul / Turns them into gold / And like a slave I am sold....Someone has to lead the road to the promised land / And if its me I shall lead / Breaking chains that make me bleed."

In the track I Feel Like Crying," Mexicano remembers the faces of his friends who have been cut down in the prime of their lives. I feel like crying / Cause I see my brother falling down / Tears Upon his face / As his body hits the ground."

Mexicanos message is simple truths, there are people will try to rob you of your hopes, your dreams, your love and even your life. But you have the power within to remain strong and be a force for change in your community no matter the circumstance.

Mexicano777 has already developed a strong following in the Latin community in the United States thanks to his chart topping success in Puerto Rico. He started with DJ Playero," the principal pioneer of the underground hip-hop generation in Puerto Rico. Together, they created Santa Maria," Shinane," Miren Al Mexicano," and No Se Lo Que Estan Pensando." He was soon signed and the first single Desde La Isla De La Muerte," was produced by Tony Touch, one of the most recognized Latin DJs in the United States.

SMA ENTERTAINMENTs Edvardo Bissiccio hand picked Mexicano777 to be the first act on the newly formed label. Mexicano777 has a distinct style, sound and flavor to his music," Bissiccio said. I was impressed with this young man perseverance, talent and drive. He had a dream that he pursued, and now my goal is to develop and nurture that talent with a very hands-on approach. The mission is to get the right message across visually, sonically, and above all, artistically!"

Mexicano777 recently completed the final touches for his new album. The album features guest appearances by rap legend KRS-One and Reggae superstar Mad Lion.

It will be released on the newly formed SMA ENTERTAINMENT label in Mid March 2001.
