rSchool introduces enhanced data upload feature

New application enables teachers to upload student information from most grade book programs

Pennsauken, NJ/March 20, 2001 -- Online educational community rSchool.com has made it easier for teachers to post grades, attendance and class information for parents in their secured portal. Its enhanced p/t conference application, launched this week, allows teachers to upload electronic files from nearly all grade book and student information systems.

rSchool introduced version 1.1 to educators, students and parents among its 3,200 member schools in January 2001. Enhancements to the system included a streamlined upload feature for educators using the popular Teachers Toolbox software. With more than 400,000 users nationwide, educators can harness the power of Teachers Toolbox software for improved parent interaction. With just a few clicks of the mouse, teachers can upload student data from their computer to the rSchool site, reducing the time needed to manually input this information online. With this new feature, a greater number of parents were able to access their childs information at any time of the day or night.

However, after receiving requests from partner schools, rSchool developed a new interface that provides the ability to also interface with other grade book programs and student information systems. To use the new interface, educators simply export progress reports from their current software as a text file. Once imported to the rSchool site, the system separates student data by unique identification codes to provide parents with access to only their childs accounts.
