Tango Telecom Joins Sonus Networks' Partner Alliance

LIMERICK, Ireland -- March 20, 2001 --

Membership in Alliance will speed introduction of converged networks worldwide

Tango Telecom Ltd. today announced it has become a member of Sonus Networks' Open Services Partner Alliance (OSPA). The OSPA provides a framework that offers service providers end-to-end packet-based network solutions using best-of breed technologies and applications from multiple vendors.

Tango Telecom has developed the INgate product, which allows operators to leverage their existing Intelligent Networks services, such as VPN, Freephone, and other legacy services while enjoying all the benefits of a converged Sonus powered network.

"We are pleased that Tango has joined the growing ranks of our partner alliance which today stands at more than 100 members," said Terri Griffin, vice president of marketing, INtelligentIP® division, Sonus Networks. "Clearly Tango understands the increasing demand for IP services, particularly in Europe and Asia, and is well positioned to go after this significant market opportunity."

"Sonus and Tango share the same vision for a converged network future and Tango is pleased to work together with the market share leader for carrier-class packet voice switching equipment." said Thaddeus Albers, Business Development Manager for Tango. "The INgate product speeds the introduction of converged networks by enabling the deployment of tried and tested Intelligent Network services of the traditional network from day one."

Sonus' OSPA was launched in 1999 and combined with the INIP PoweredSM Partner Program in January 2001 through Sonus' acquisition of telecom technologies. The goal of the program is to empower standards-based interoperability between applications, hardware vendors, and the Sonus product suite. An integral part of the Sonus OSPA, the Interoperability Laboratory is the first in the industry where product interoperability is verified, trial testing is performed, and complete solutions are ultimately produced.
