The Guy Smiley Blues Exchange CD release:
"LIVE"
It's been just over two years since the multi-instrumentalists in The Guy Smiley Blues Exchange have pooled their collective talents to create a new recording. In that time, they have managed to escalate their live energy and compositional style to an unforgettable level. And now, on April 1, 2001, GSBE will showcase both energy and composition on a new CD entitled, LIVE.
The band decided to release a live recording after suggestions from many of their friends and fans that couldn't get enough of the band's live energy. On December 1, 2000, the band brought 24-track recording equipment to their scheduled date at Jacklegs in Nashville, Tennessee and performed three incredible sets to a packed house. The new CD is a collection of the music, energy, excitement, and intensity that they bring to you from the stage.
LIVE, energetically embraces the listener and aurally transports them into the Nashville venue where the CD was recorded. The CD captures the artistic spontaneity and quirks of a live performance while maintaining the sound quality of a studio recording. "Capturing our live sound is what we've always tried to get on tape in the studio, but nothing beats the real thing." Says the band's founder, Graham Spice.
But that's not all, in addition to the energy, LIVE features new tunes - compositions that hold onto the past stylings of jazz and funk while looking beyond into the future of music. The CD also features favorites that GSBE fans will recognize.
LIVE hits the streets on April 1st. Distribution to regional retail locations will soon be in place. CDs will also be available online at the Home Grown Music Network, Jambase.com, and Amazon.com. Of course, CDs and other merchandise are available at every GSBE show. DonÂt wait - Pick up a copy of the new live CD today!
