NEW> HAPPYKIPPER.COM: THE BOTTOMLESS PORTAL FOR GAMES AND CARTOONS

Happy (PRWEB) March 26, 2001 - Having, showing or causing a feeling of great pleasure, joy, intoxicated.

Kipper (n.) - To cure by cleaning, salting, and drying or smoking (usually herring).

HappyKipper.com (!) - New site for finding online games and cartoons when there's nothing on TV or when the boss isn't looking.

London, UK - March 26, 2001/ - For some, the Internet is a bottomless source of entertainment; for others, it's a source of entertainment with too many bottoms. Whatever your view, Happy Kipper.com debuting March 26 catalogues the chaos that is comedy and entertainment on the Internet.

HappyKipper.com is the first index of streaming media games and cartoons whose staff reviews, rates and classifies its content according to mood and subject matter.

Not all content is for the kids or appropriate for mixed company but icons help guide choices. The site also provides screenshots and tells visitors how large the download is for each item.

HappyKipper.com provides valuable exposure to independent artists and studios that have smaller sites and rely on word of mouth to attract visitors. Cartoon artist, Jason Love is glad for his association with the Kipper. "The HappyKipper.com Posse has sifted through all the ca-ca on the Internet and compiled the funniest collection of sites I have seen. I'm honored to occupy some remote corner of their super-machine."

"This index revolves and evolves, just like life," says Simon Broadley, Managing Director of HappyKipper.com. "Rather than provide a fixed index, HappyKipper.com will rotate its content weekly, so that people who always want, for example a funny cartoon, are continually offered a different funny cartoon. We expect to have roughly 2,000 titles that circulate weekly."

Editor's note:

The site is launching at a time when many dot-com companies are experiencing difficulties. However, streaming media, the format of most of the site's content is on the increase (1), online gaming is also gaining popularity (2) and the site's positioning, as an alternative to television is also catching a rising trend (3).

1) Streaming media is increasing in popularity according to recent Nielsen Internet Ratings.
