Nuremberg, Germany (March 25th, 2001) - Harald Heim Software (http://www.thepluginsite.com) is pleased to announce Version 2.01 of HTML Shrinker. HTML Shrinker is a tool for reducing the size of various web, wap and script files with great efficiency and enormous speed. As a result your web or wap site will load faster, need less web space, less bandwidth and you will continually save web hosting fees.
New in Version 2.01
In the new Version 2.01 the folder box behavior has been improved, the main window became resizable, context menus have been added and a new option makes the manual file processing even quicker. Additionally HTML Shrinker now features a greatly improved shrinking efficiency with respect to spaces, end of lines and VBscript. TCL scripts can be shrunken, too, and an Analyze command for getting detailed information about which elements will be removed from a certain file was added. Moreover, dragging and dropping files or folders from the Explorer will trigger the Shrink command. A lot of other minor improvements were made and some bugs were removed, too.
Shrinks Various Web, Wap and Script Files
HTML Shrinker is capable of reducing the size of various file types e.g. HTML, WML, WMLS, SHTML, JHTML, XML, CFML, JS, CSS, ASP, PL, PHP and TCL. It shrinks plain html, wml and xml code, but also Javascript, Php, Perl, Tcl, WMLscript as well as VBscript code. Comments from different html editors e.g. Frontpage, Dreamweaver, Pagemil, SourceSafe are supported and SSI commands are left untouched. HTML Shrinker achieves an up to 50% reduction in file size by removing superfluous elements which aren't necessary for the files to display or function correctly. Shrunken files can be restored to their original state at any time.
Different Shrinking and Backup Possibilities
HTML Shrinker allows to select single files for shrinking or to shrink a whole web site with only one mouse click. You can decide whether you like to replace the original files with the shrunken ones while automatically making backups or if you like to shrink to a destination folder and keep the original files untouched. Additionally you can shrink files or whole folder trees directly from the Windows Explorer by using the context menu or by drag and drop, but you can also shrink files by using a script that controls HTML Shrinker from the DOS box. Other useful functions are the shrinking of code on the clipboard, analyzing what elements will be removed from files and the ability to simulate the shrinking of files.
Other Useful Features
HTML Shrinker even contains a wide range of other significant features. For example, it allows you to clean up your html documents by removing all images, scripts, styles, NB spaces or font tags to make them slim e.g. for archiving or transferring them to your pocket computer. The Sites menu offers quick access to the root folders of different web sites on your hard drive, there are commands for displaying the source code of the files or for displaying the files in your browser and the Options dialog provides you with the opportunity to influence the shrinking process.
Availability and System Requirements
HTML Shrinker is available for Windows 95, 98, Me, NT and 2000. The commercial license of HTML Shrinker Pro sells at $49.95 and the personal license (for use on only non-profit web sites) costs $29.95. Both can be purchased from http://htmlshrinker.com/.
