Networking Indigenous Peoples

Networking Indigenous Peoples
http://www.hawaii-nation.org/sdinfoage.html#up10

"Glenn Welker is contributes extensive information on the situation in Chiapas,
Mexico. He writes about his work networking indigenous people together, that they have 'so much beautiful literature, stories, fables, etc. that not many people know about'.

Also, my hope is that what I am doing is helping to educate non-native people. In doing that, I hope there can be better understanding between their 2 worlds. Based
on the number of e-mail messages and contributions of poetry, stories,
etc., I definitely know that my work is being appreciated."

Welker continues: "From what I see, Native Americans are gaining more and more recognition on the Internet each day. I know this due to all of the pointers that I have discovered. It will benefit them most because they will be better able to communicate with their different groups. When used correctly the Internet is a powerful tool that can definitely change the status of many people. We all know how much native peoples can use all of the help they can. It is long overdue in my opinion."

The webmaster, Dr. Glenn Welker, is a noted author, researcher and computer programming authority in the field of American Indian and Canadian Indian studies.

His work permits today's young readers to enjoy the wisdom and humor woven into ancient stories, which might otherwise have been lost to them.
