Heart House Happy Hour at Gold Bar -- Free Afterschool Program Invites Downtowners to Learn More

(PRWEB) March 29, 2001 - A Happy Hour to benefit the Heart House Free Afterschool Program will commence at 5pm on Thursday, April 5 at Gold Bar. (1900 Elm St; near Main & Ervay)

A $5 donation at the door will automatically make participants eligible to receive raffle items sponsored by the Dallas Mavericks, Southwest Airlines, Avalon Salon, Jeroboam, Deep Ellum Café, and many more!

The happy hour is an opportunity for Dallasites to learn more about the need for afterschool care and the work that Heart House is doing to bring free afterschool to neighborhoods in need in Dallas and other locations.

Heart House is a non-profit agency providing free afterschool programs dedicated to raising academic achievement levels for low-income and at-risk children in inner city areas and encouraging them to become active, involved members of society.

Heart House is sponsored thorough the generosity of the community, so please come out and join us for a great time benefitting a great cause.

About Heart House:
Heart House (www.hearthouse.org) is a non-profit agency providing free afterschool programs for low-income and at-risk children in inner city areas. Heart House's primary focus is on raising academic achievement, achieved through homework assistance, tutoring, and mentoring. Additional learning opportunities are provided through art enrichment classes, computer literacy classes, and programs in personal and public safety. Heart House offers children in grades kindergarten through eighth grade the opportunity to socialize in a structured and supervised environment, to develop new interests through educational experiences, and to learn the skills and behaviors necessary to become productive, contributing members of the community. All services to the children are free. Heart House is working with communities nationwide to plan and open Heart House sites.
