The Big, BIG Retirement Book!
Author, John Kernell, 67, the self-proclaimed man who was "born to be retired" (Barron's 3/26/01, p. R4) has just completed work on a new book entitled, appropriately,"The Big, BIG Retirement Book."
Excerpts and ordering information is available now at The ACTIVE Retirement Center, www.YourRetirement.org/
"The Big, BIG Retirement Book" is actually three books in one and contains tons of retirement jokes, pre- and post-retirement planning, ideas, Web sites, books, tips, a retirement party planning checklist, cards, gifts, gimmicks, a unique list of "1001 Things to DO in Retirement" and the highly controversial essay, "The Psychology of a Happy Retirement."
Kernell has a Master's Degree in Psychology from Antioch College, acquired when he was 44, and throughout his long career in public relations planned many special events for clients: from the 30th Anniversary of the United Nations to inexpensive little parties for retiring employees.
Barron's interviewed Kernell in March along with nine other active retirees and featured them in an article called "Retired, But Not Retiring."
