THE FUTURE OF SEARCH TECHNOLOGY? SOME BELIEVE SO

Early Numbers Show With1Click has Struck a Responsive Chord Among Net Surfers

Santa Clara, CA-4/4/01

With a mere two months of on-line exposure, the With1Click.com beta directory has exceeded initial expectations. "We built With1Click.com specifically to demonstrate our technology and to garner consumer response. It's very gratifying to see such immediate user interest, especially without any formal marketing. We've had nearly 150,000 unique visitors in just the first eight weeks," said Stephen Oachs, Co-founder & CTO. "It's exciting to see that 30% of these users conducted their search directly from the browser address bar. The public is validating how well our technology works--even going as far as referring to us as 'the future of search technology.' We're very pleased with these results."

With1Click, Inc. designed and launched their beta site to publicly demonstrate their innovative "any browser" search enhancement technology-the only address bar search that provides immediate and completely relevant results. This type of search works in part by going beyond "traditional" search tools and enhancing the ability to more objectively and efficiently search databases.

The core of their methodology "breaks the barriers" that limit existing search methods-methods that tend to leave users frustrated and dissatisfied. The patent pending address bar search works on any browser and any computer by using "everyday" language, and the unique Friendly Name recognition system allows for continual updating with minimal effort and maximum effect. The With1Click Friendly Name method is an extension of both the address bar and a traditional Web search. This system makes associations between products and information in order to generate a diverse and highly relevant query structure, which continuously improves itself through both automation and human intervention. Each piece of information co-exists independently, yet randomly, within a system that allows unlimited, relevant and erroneous search terms to be applied. By utilizing logical cognitive language and error prevention standards, the Friendly Name method compensates for varied search habits and common errors.

This innovative search technology is particularly welcome news for companies interested in improving e-commerce. Studies show fewer than two percent of on-line shopping visits actually result in purchases, since nearly half of all Web shoppers aren't able to find the products they're searching for. By using With1Click technology, on-line merchants have the ability to direct users instantly to products and related information. This will effectively decrease the percentage of abandoned transactions, as well as the frustration voiced by so many users.

Their technology was developed to operate parallel to existing HTTP Internet architecture, allowing for seamless integration to existing systems and universal compatibility for users. The application of this revolutionary technology will enhance any search ability, allowing users to search their favorite on-line retailer from any place on the Web, from any browser . . . and that is precisely the With1Click vision.

With1Click is preparing to begin licensing their technology, and are now seeking second round funding to scale operations.
