COM Explorer 2.0 lets you explore, manage and repair ActiveX/COM files

COM, Microsoft's component technology is based on binary components which are used as the building blocks of Windows applications. Once installed the management of these entities becomes extremely difficult. Component configuration stored in the Registry can only be accessed via REGEDIT, a time consuming operation. Identification of controls with missing files is almost impossible. Simple operations such as registering and unregistering controls need to be done using a primitive command line tool (REGSVR32).

COM Explorer's professional interface enables users to view, manage and repair ActiveX Controls, DLL Servers and EXE Servers with a single mouse click. The software provides a centralized view of COM objects as well as detailed information such as GUID, TypeLib, version and file information. Misbehaved objects such as objects with missing files left as junk in the Registry are clearly marked.

A Registry editor is fully integrated, allowing you to view and edit COM settings. Also included is a dependency viewer which allows you to view all the DLL dependencies for a COM object and clearly marks missing DLL files to allow quick detection of "bad" installations. COM Explorer is tightly integrated with Windows Explorer, enabling to you quickly register, unregister and view COM controls with a single click.

An inventory report generator allows you to easily generate HTML reports that include a list of the COM objects installed. The report generator supports strong filtering and customization options.

COM Explorer substantially reduces the complexity of identifying COM related problems developers and system administrators face every day. It runs on Windows 95/98/NT/2000/Me.
