Dallas-Area Animator Wins Two Best-of-Category Awards at International Web Page Awards
In the three years of competition at the International Web Page Awards, no individual has ever won two 'best of category' awards in the same year. Until now.
Lewisville, TX - At the International Web Page Awards ceremony, held on April 26, 2001 in San Jose, CA, Jim Armstrong won two Best-of-Category awards for his personal web site, 2112 F/X. Mr. Armstrong received 'Best Personal Site' and 'Best Audio/Video' honors for his online work.
In the three years of the competition, Mr. Armstrong is the only individual to receive two best-of-category awards in the same year. Other multi-category winners have been teams from design firms, large corporations, and advertising agencies.
"I was both delighted and humbled by the awards," stated Mr. Armstrong. "The caliber of competition gets higher every year. I was excited simply to be a finalist for the best-of-category awards. To win best personal site was a great honor. Since my business is animation and visual FX, winning best audio/video was immensely satisfying."
The International Web Page Awards is rated as one of the five top internet award programs by Wired Magazine. The 2000 competition featured over 720 sites from 22 countries around the world. One hundred and fifty-two finalists were selected to compete in the 'Best of Category' awards. Disney.com won the 'Best of Festival' award.
2112 F/X is the personal web site of Jim Armstrong, a freelance 3D animator and C++ programmer. Mr. Armstrong specializes in 3D character animation and particle FX.
