DR2DR and Cymed partner to deliver transcription solution for physician practices

Healthcare ASP DR2DR and transcription service Cymed partner to deliver electronic distribution and receipt of physician transcriptions to physician practices using the web.

Richmond, VA (May 23, 2001) DR2DR of Richmond, Virginia, a leading Healthcare Application Service Provider (ASP), announced today that it has been chosen by Cymed to offer an electronic transcription solution to physician practices nationwide. The solution, called E•chart, will allow Cymed to enter transcriptions into commonly used word processing applications and send them electronically to the physician practices web-based patient chart (E•chart). The physician practice will have the ability to edit and store the transcriptions into E•chart and Physicians will be able to search for and review patient charts on any device with Internet access.

The traditional transcription process involves typing transcriptions and sending them electronically to physician practices. Once there, they are printed and must be edited by hand if necessary and filed into the patients paper chart where they are retrieved by office staff for the patients next visit. E•chart offers several advantages over this method, including:
