The Limca Book of Records, 2001 has made a new entry indicating a new record as under: Dr. Rajesh Shah, Director, Homeopathy India Foundation has treated patients from 77 countries since he started his practice in 1985 in Mumbai. Graduating from Bombay Homoeopathic Medical College, in 1984, his first patient from abroad was in 1985. The global patients vary from poor families from countries like Ethiopia to the family of the ex-president of the United States. Over the period of last 15 years, Dr.Rajesh Shah has been communicating with the people through various media to spread the message of homoeopathy. I am a homoeopathy activist," says Dr.Shah. The readers of various publications in many countries, the viewers of his talks on the television, the students and the doctors who have been taught by him in many countries and the visitors to his websites, who were looking out for someone who could treat patients with homoeopathy, found Dr.Rajesh Shahs clinic as a source of treatment.
As on now, Dr.Rajesh Shahs clinics in Mumbai has been visited by patients from many countries. There are so many people who come to Mumbai for getting treated with homoeopathy by Dr.Shah.
My responsibility towards my patients who visit me all the way flying over 12000 kilometers, is all the more. I am morally bound to make sure that their faith in homoeopathy grows," admits Dr.Shah.
Homoeopathy, also spelled as homeopathy, an alternative medical science, introduced by Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, MD, in Germany, in the year 1794. Ever since then homoeopathy has been practiced in most parts of the world. In the early part of the 20th century, about 30% doctors in the United States were homoeopaths. After the penicillin era, the spread of homoeopathy declined. However, there has been increasing awareness amongst the educated mass especially during last three decades. Homoeopathy, now, enjoys a place of a foremost alternative medicine. In India, there are over 105 homoeopathic medical colleges, offering 5 years long graduation program in homoeopathy, producing over 40000 homoeopathic doctors every year," informs Dr.Rajesh Shah, who was a honorary professor to the CMPH Medical College, under Bombay University for over 8 years.
Homoeopathy has gained popularity especially for the treatment of chronic and recurring diseases. There are many diseases, which are declared as incurable, finds promising results with homoeopathy. Some of them may be listed as: allergies, asthma in children, eczema, lichen planus, migraine, ulcerative colitis, irritable bowel syndrome, etc.

Exclusive websites by a doctor to promote homoeopathy
As a part of the project on homoeopathy promotion at a global level, Dr.Rajesh Shah has launched a series of websites during last five years. Some of the websites have been devoted exclusive to certain diseases to discuss the role of homoeopathy for certain diseases.
Dr.Rajesh Shah emphasizes that unless we inform the people at mass and let them know what homoeopathy can do for them, we cannot expect people to turn to homoeopathy. Over all, people in many parts of the world are absolutely ignorant about the role of homoeopathy for certain difficult diseases. For instance, most people do not know that allergic disorders find excellent treatment with homoeopathy. Like wise there are many more ailments, which remain untreated merely due to the ignorance about homoeopathy.
The websites have been created and written by Dr.Rajesh Shah and Dr.Rupal Shah themselves, to fill in the information gap. Doctors from Europe and America getting training in Mumbai
About the Training Course for Foreign doctors in Mumbai, at Dr.Rajesh Shahs centers:
On the homoeopathic education front, Dr.Rajesh Shah and Dr.Rupal Shah have been organizing seminars for homoeopaths in India and abroad. During frequent teaching visits to England, USA, and other European countries, they identified a need to offer advance training for the homoeopathic and allopathic doctors. They started the first course for foreign doctors at their Mumbai clinic in the year 1994. Since then, every February, a group of doctors from several countries visit their Mumbai clinic for the advance-training program, for three weeks. It may be noted that most of the participants to the course have been homoeopathic practitioners, allopathic doctors including the teachers of homoeopathy. So far, doctors from Canada, America, Sweden, Germany, Holland, England, Croatia, Ireland, Laos, Egypt, South Africa, Russia, etc. have attended the courses in India.
At this time, February 2001, there are homoeopaths from seven countries who have come for training, which include five allopathic doctors from Germany, the birthplace of homoeopathy.
The training in Europe is not adequate with regards to treating difficult diseases such as Asthma, certain infections, skin diseases, etc. Our homeopathic training lacks practical aspects of prescribing for which we join the course with Dr.Shah in Mumbai," says Dr. Ian Harris of England. Ms.Helene Piper from Sweden, who attended the course in 1998, noted, This course has made lot of things clearer to me. I am grateful for your help in my containing work as homoeopathy. I feel more confident as a homoeopath." Dr.Vladmir, Yet another homoeopath from Russia, who has been a senior teacher himself for 20 years, made a remark: I have learnt new methods of prescribing for my private practice as well as some teaching techniques which will help me to be a better teacher at college where I teach in Russia."
Dr.Rajesh Shah also conducted a similar course in Ireland a couple of years ago. The significance of such a course is that the participants get to learn practical principles of prescribing in treating difficult diseases."
The first course started in the year 1994, this is the 8th year that the homoeopaths from outside India visit Mumbai to learn homoeopathy intensely for three weeks.
