Janet Fisher of Goodnight Kiss Music, Hollywood, will be signing copies of her new, cult-hit book, Music Horror Stories," at Portrait Of A Bookstore in Studio City, California, on Sunday afternoon, July 22, from 2:00-4:00 PM. Several other contributing authors, such as John Brehany, Alex Del Zoppo, Mandi Martin, Darci Monet, and Nairobi Sailcat, will also be present to sign their individual stories in the volume.
The entire title of this truly original work is actually Music Horror Stories: A Collection Of Gruesome, True Tales As Told By Actual Innocent Victims Seeking A Career In The Music Business" (ISBN 0970356374); and the title isnt the only thing to bring a grin. Inside, stories of various styles and topics are told with the good- natured humor of those who have adjusted for the long journey down the entertainers career highway of irony. There are also some original black and white drawings, created specifically for the book, that add another nice flavor before each section of chapters.
Music Horror Stories" was first created as an online newsletter topic for Fishers email e-zine, The Goodnight Kiss Music News, carried at Yahoo/Egroups, (http://www.yahoogroups.com/groups/goodnightkiss),as a Halloween topic feature, and part of the companys series of free contests hosted at their site. When the response had passed the normal barometer of letters, and started containing
...stories that were hysterically funny, and yet touching," Fisher decided to capture some of them in book form.
Its one of those magic projects that just grows on its own," says Janet. First, it was fun recalling a story to tell for the site. Then the e-zine stories were super, and now the actual book. Our current site contest is also now based on this -- we are looking for eerie songs of all types -- as entertainment for our book celebration party in October."
There is also a free entry form in the back of the book for the reader to enter their own story, to be considered for future editions. The 208 page chronicle of the working biz" can currently be ordered from its own site, www.music-horror-stories.com, or at amazon.com, and in some bookstores later this year; or call Goodnight Kiss at (323) 969-9993 with any inquires.
