e-command http://www.e-command.co.uk the new media networking group announces its Research and Measurement event to be held on 25 July 2001, London, UK.

e-command's events and forums are targeted at the development of professional managers and marketers within marketing, new media and business.

The guest speakers will be John Caldwell, Head of Research and George Davidson, Qualitative Research Director from Red Sheriff http://www.redsheriff.com. Red Sheriff provides conduct qualitative and quantitative research on a whole range of websites and have offices in 11 countries.

Red Sheriff will be sharing their experience of researching and measuring hundreds of sites across the globe in understanding what makes a useful and stylish website.

John and George will talk about the research methods they employ in website evaluation and development before going on to outline some general principles of website design based on the dozens of sites they have researched.

They will be using tried and tested case studies and valuable insight into how to effectively research and measure website performance sharing experience and knowledge with the attendees.

Sharon Smith, Co-Founder says, “This will be e-command's ninth networking event and many tickets have already been sold. In true e-command fashion, questions will definitely be welcomed to stir lively discussion amongst attendees.

This event is a must attend for individuals who are involved with the development of websites.”

The event will follow the usual format of light refreshments and networking, and a short informative presentation from our guest speakers. We then follow this up by further networking with the guest speakers and all of the attendees at a local venue.”

John Caldwell, Head of Research, Red Sheriff, http://www.redsheriff.com
A graduate in Politics and Sociology from The City of London Polytechnic (1988), John began his Market Research career at the Gordon Simmons Research Group Ltd, rising to the level of Senior Research Executive. Subsequently he was Research Manager at The Research Business International (part of the Maritz Group) where he covered all qualitative and quantitative techniques.

Since joining Red Sheriff as Senior Research Manager, John now directs all online ad hoc projects in the UK, both Qualitative and Quantitative.

As a full Member of the Market Research Society for the past 10 years John is duty bound to follow the Market Research Society’s Code of Conduct and adhere to all of the society’s research guidelines.

George Davidson, Qualitative Research Director, http://www.redsheriff.com

George Davidson's experience of web-site evaluation and development projects makes him an essential part of any qualitative Internet project.

Having worked with First Direct in formulating their Internet and PC-Banking strategy, George has worked with clients like Virgin, CGNU, Barclays, Bacon and Woodrow, Mckinsey & Co., BMW, sharepeople.com, Egg and News International’s firedup.com.

His contribution on web-site evaluation and development was Highly Commended for the prize of Best Paper at the Market Research Society Conference in March 2000.

Kieron Smith, Co-Founder, is a member of the Institute of Management, experienced within retail management, Internet site management and currently working as Head of Site Management for BCA (a Bertelsmann company) http://www.booksdirect.co.uk, managing over 50 websites, with a turnover in excess of £4 million. Kieron built and designed the e-command website.

Sharon Smith, Co-Founder, is experienced within the finance, retail and travel sectors in marketing strategy, direct marketing, sales promotion and online marketing. Her background includes Barclays Bank, Triangle Communications and working as Head of Marketing for Kelkoo.com (including UK launch campaign).

Sharon is currently at British Airways in their eBA division, working on both B2B and B2C online projects and business integration.
