Record Labels Find New Media Support

Labels cant submit release information to everyone under the sun, and webmasters cant contact all the labels for listings each week. Music industry specialists YourRelease have taken the initiative.

A new music industry initiative from the new media marketing specialists YourRelease, now allows labels and distributors to submit new release data to hundreds of specialist music and entertainment websites through one point of contact.

The new system has taken over 12 months to develop and now has over 800 music websites registered to display the genre specific new release listings which are fed directly from the YourRelease database. Labels can easily submit data at the YourRelease.com website and get a weekly email reminder, genres covered so far are country, dance, d&b, dub, easy, folk, garage, hip hop, house, indie, leftfield, r&b, pop, rock, trance and techno.

"We're excited about the feedback from labels." said Peter Lockett, Chief Operations Officer of YourRelease, "A benefit to them is that listings contain direct hyperlinks back to the label website, which increases traffic" said Lockett. "Where provided, visitors can also hear previews of the tracks through links to soundfiles on the label sites."
