UK Web Site Promotion Companies Are Only Doing Half The Job.

The study looked at every web site promotion company based in the UK, to examine the range of services on offer.

We were so shocked by the initial findings that we had to broaden the survey criteria to include services that we had assumed mandatory for any promotion agency. We were astonished by the narrow range of services that many SEOs (Search Engine Optimisers) were offering customers. They cannot possibly be doing the job properly, and it is their clients who suffer the consequences".

The survey revealed that 41% of UK promotion firms dont provide web page optimisation, which is essential for effective search engine placement. Just 28% of companies offer link popularity" services, without which sites are often not indexed properly by search engines, and are rarely competitive.

Most significantly, however, just 9% of promotion agencies examine the sales pitch and call-to-action of web sites to ensure that they are effective sales vehicles for their owners. The importance of this cannot be overstated; the sales pitch is often the sole reason for the existence of a web site, and if it isnt effective, the site will fail.

It is as if many SEOs regard the web site as completely unrelated to the promotion" continued Anthony Butcher, co-founder of Aardvark Web Site Promotion. How a web site treats its visitors is every bit as important as search engine placements."
