MarketResearch.com helps Marketers Cut Through the 2000 Clutter

New York, July 30/PRNewswire --- Managing and analyzing Census data just became easier with Census Looks, a new series of Census 2000 database tools created by MarketResearch.com. This user-friendly tool provides marketers with a new resource to handle this traditionally unwieldy, yet important information source.

The key marketing data found in the Census has traditionally been buried deep within the volumes and rows of data available from the Census Bureau. Hundreds of hours are often spent finding, processing and interpreting these crucial market research figures. As part of its core focus to make the lives of marketing executives easier, MarketResearch.com has introduced this useful and effective database tool.

We wanted to provide a tool that would present all the valuable data that the Census offers, coupled with added functionality and organization to provide users with the ability to easily manipulate and disseminate this vast amount of information," said Meg Hargreaves, VP of Research Publishing for MarketResearch.com. Census Looks are available in ExcelÔ spreadsheet format and offer complete historical data from the 2000, 1990, and 1980 censuses, providing detailed figures on the metropolitan statistical area (MSA), county, and state levels.    The product series will be continually expanded to include more detailed demographic reports as more complete 2000 Census numbers are released.

The information included in Census Looks is painstakingly culled from official United States Government Census data by Gary Hill, the former president of both Claritas and Donnelly Marketing Information Services. Mr. Hill is recognized as one of the founders of the demographic information industry and has served as a marketing consultant to the Bureau of the Census.

All this data tells a story about whats happening in America," said Mr. Hill. The numbers in Census Looks illustrate the trends that are moving the nation. The emergence of new population centers, the reporting of new household relationships, and the ever increasing numbers of senior citizens and minority groups are just a few demographic characteristics that document the dynamics of our nations markets. These trends are equally apparent and meaningful on a more local level, and throughout different demographic sectors."

Census Looks reports contain demographic indices measuring the similarity and dissimilarity of individual geographic areas to the state and national averages. This tool allows the user not only access to the raw data, but also the ability to put this information into context. A sample from a Census Looks report is currently available on www.MarketResearch.com.
