"Easy Music Theory" on CD-ROM Course Gives Solid Foundation to Amateur and Professional Musicians

Music Theory course on CD-ROM gives music students, and amateur and professional musicians a solid grounding in music instruction. The new course is offered at www.EasyMusicTheory.com

August 1, 2001, Halifax, NS - Thousands of musicians are quite aware of Gary Ewer's Easy Music Theory web site at www.EasyMusicTheory.com. The site feeds hundreds of thousands of lesson sheets to knowledge-hungry musicians per month. Now, Spring Day Music, teaming with Gary Ewer have released Gary Ewer's Easy Music Theory on CD-ROM!, a comprehensive music course that comes not only with expanded lessons, but also worksheets, quizzes, and articles, and even features Gary Ewer himself, teaching each of twenty-five lessons, right on the CD-ROM.

The new course on CD-ROM is a natural progression for Ewer and Spring Day Music, who fully sponsor the globally popular web site.

Spring Day's president is David Ewer, Gary's brother. Of the site's incredible popularity, David Ewer says that the site's appeal is world wide. "We receive incredible letters and email from virtually every corner of the world. Many aspiring musicians cannot get enough of Gary's very clear and entertaining way of explaining even the most difficult musical concepts."

And what is the secret to the huge interest in the new CD product? David Ewer says, "People can tell from the lessons on our site that Gary does not come at you with a huge ego and useless information. He is ultra professional, he assumes nothing, and he has that special talent for making music theory very interesting, fun, and of course, easy.

Gary Ewer comes well qualified for the task of teaching the world's musicians. In addition to being a high school music teach for the past ten years, he is also an accomplished choral conductor, orchestra conductor, composer, arranger, and trumpeter. His compositions and arrangements have been recorded and performed internationally, and several of his arrangements for choir are regularly performed by professional choirs.

What is the difference between the new CD-ROM course and the existing web site, which still continues to offer free music theory lessons? The site's free lessons cover twenty-five basic and intermediate topics, and then provide a short quiz. The CD-ROM product, however, provides an expanded lesson, and also features Gary Ewer teaching each lesson in MPEG video, in a private tutor setting. As well, each lesson comes with a full set of worksheets, and a new, expanded quiz.

"We now have a complete music course," says David Ewer. "Someone can take this course, do these lessons, and find themselves at the university acceptance level just a couple of months after starting." The course is designed for the student to work at his/her own pace. And of course, as a music theory course, there is an assumption that the student is learning an instrument at the same time. "Students of Easy Music Theory play piano, guitar, bass, sax, trumpet - any musical instrument. What we give them is the technical knowledge of music that allows them to understand what they're playing - how scales work, how to change the key of music, how to write melodies down. In short, we tell them how music works."
