Seeking Sponsors for Reality TV Show

Location Based Branding is currently seeking sponsors for Road 2 Success, a reality show currently under development to showcase the start-up community.

Location Based Branding, an experiential marketing firm located in Montclair, NJ, is currently developing Road 2 Success, a multi-layered reality TV program built around a national start-up competition.

Road 2 Success will place four companies into a full incubator environment and give them 16 weeks to get their business developed. For the first time, the public will be able to see the inside process and watch as companies are developed from concept to initial product prototypes. For participating companies, the opportunity to gain exposure through a national broadcast will be unlike anything thats ever been done before.

According to David B. Polinchock, Principal at Location Based Branding, Inc., "This project was originally created last spring for one of our clients, but once they passed on it, we decided to take it on ourselves. We always thought that it would make an excellent television series and this is the right time to do it. Despite the current downturn in the economy, there is still a national conversation about people starting their own companies. Road 2 Success can become a focal point and an enhancement of that conversation. Close to 20% of US adults start own company and the previous economic boom has only enhanced the desire for people to work for themselves. LBB is confident that Road 2 Success can become the centerpiece for the next generation of business growth."

Road 2 Success will broadcast and web cast the full development of these companies, from start to finish. Audience members will be allowed to watch the progress of the companies, the highs and lows of starting a new business. The build-outs will be a highly promoted and monitored race to the finish with the winner receiving additional, 2nd round VC financing.

While the format relates to the issues of building a company, the real content of the show is the ability to live the American Dream. "Road 2 Success allows our participants the chance to build something that will have lasting value, both financially and spiritually," said Polinchock. "We are confident that this core element of the show will appeal to a broad demographic audience here in the United States. The idea of creating a business will appeal to this diverse audience, as it is a universal challenge that both a Midwest farmer and Wall Street tycoon can relate to," said Polinchock. He adds, "We live in an entrepreneurial economy that supercedes demographics --it hits all age groups, regions, demographics and psychographics. People want the freedom to start their own company, pursue their dreams and have a better life."

Road 2 Success will reflect the diversity of people who really do start companies -- young, old, men, women, people from all backgrounds and geographic locations. Because were selecting companies, not individuals, there will be more people involved, resulting in more opportunity to hit broader demographics. The companies chosen to participate in the Road 2 Success can represent the different audiences and that, in fact, will add to the drama of the show.

According to Polinchock, "One of the key points of interest for Road 2 Success is watching a group of people working together to create something they believe in. Seeing how the stress of that task will impact the relationships of the participants, as well as how it will impact their families and friends, is all part of the draw of the program."

He adds, "Consider the built in stresses of the industry dynamics -- fast changing, lots of competition, long hours, unbalanced work life, etc., and Im sure youll agree that we can create a compelling show for people to watch. Road 2 Success will create situations that everyone will relate to and understand. 'Can I create a company? Will my idea be a success? Road 2 Success can help them find out."

Additionally, there are several other factors that will add to the success of Road 2 Success:

  • Road 2 Success will have broad international appeal, as other countries want to model their economy on the U.S. in terms of innovation and capital creation. This especially is true in reaching younger demographics -- consider the high immigration level of young foreigners want to work in the U.S., especially within locations like Silicon Valley and Silicon Alley.
  • Road 2 Success will be one of the first reality-based shows to incorporate true audience participation.
  • Mark Burnett, producer of the highly successful Survivor series, said recently that one of the key impacts that Survivor has had on the television industry is less of a dependence on the 30-second spot and more direct involvement in the show by the sponsors. Road 2 Success can further expand that development by allowing the sponsors a unique role in the show. A venture capital firm, a real estate company, law firms, and any company that would support a new business can participate as a sponsor and add value to the actual content of the show.

Location Based Branding is currently seeking corporate sponsors to move Road 2 Success forward. Interested companies should contact David Polinchock at 973-655-9818 or via e-mail at david@lbbinc.com
