Grossman goes to The Limit for new CD and Release Party
Noted solo artist Davis Grossman forms new rock band for CD release that explores dark themes of substance abuse and prison life.
David Grossman, award-winning Valley singer/songwriter, celebrates the release of his new rock 'n' roll CD, BARS, on Sunday, August 26th at Alice Cooperstown in downtown Phoenix. For the album and show, Grossman is backed up by a rocking band, The Limit, including Jason Montero on guitar, Greg Lisi on drums, and Johnny Kempt on bass. BARS is Grossmans 12th album and first with the The Limit. The album is released on Phoenix label Stump Records.
The CD Release Party will be hosted by Mad Coyote Joe, of The Sonoran Grill TV show. Also performing will be Mindless Cretins (members of One Foot In The Grave) and Hamlet's Mill. The show will start at 9pm and admission is FREE.
Grossman on BARS: "BARS is like a little record. When you put the CD in your CD player it sounds as if a needle drops on a turntable. When you get to "Side 2" you hear the needle again. When you get to the end of the CD the needle goes around and around until you turn off your CD player!
BARS has two sides to it... though you don't have to turn the CD over to hear the 2nd side...it is automatic.
Side One is full out, live, rock n' roll. The songs are about being In Bars.
Side Two is a little more country / folk rock, and features songs about being Behind Bars."
