Auction Software Features

Auction Display

Self maintained categories, featured items, and seller lists.
Items listed by category, set by the site owner.
Option to have the program create individual category pages, or to create them on the fly.
Site owner sets the number of items displayed in a category list. Links to next results, as well as a drop down page menu, displayed when necessary.
Items displayed on category pages with current or starting bid, next bid, seller's name, ending date and time, and icons (for photos, new, ending, and reserve status). Items titles link to the individual display where the complete item information is available, including the bidding history, and specific seller rules.
Two levels of featured items. One for the main pages of the site, and another that displays on the top of the items' category list.
Bolding and attention grabbing arrow options available for display.
Search with any combination of seller, category, ending, and keyword.
Bids can be placed on the category lists (multiple item bidding), as well as from the items' individual display page.
Multiple seller sites offer links to other items offered by that seller when that seller is the only seller displayed on the page.

Bidding

Bids accepted from registered bidders with password verification.
Single item, or Yankee Auction bidding.
Reserve selling available, option of seller.
Minimum increases set by site owner. Options to use set amounts or percentage increases.
Maximum bidding allows a bidder to enter the most they will bid on an item, and have the system bid on their behalf when necessary.
Optional One Bid setting which takes one bid and places the maximum bid automatically, eBay style.
Email notices sent to bidders when placing a bid, and when outbid on an item.
When a bid is not accepted, bidders may bid from the next screen without entering their password again.
Bidders are prompted when bidding against a Maximum Bid.
Bids automatically raised as necessary with a Maximum Bid to meet reserve prices, and Maximum Bids, saving the bidder the extra steps.
Multiple bids may be placed at the same time for search results, member tracking, or category lists.
The Buy It! Feature

A Buy It! item has all of the same features as an auction item, and is displayed throughout the auction site alongside the regular auction items. The difference being that a Buy It! item is available for immediate purchase.
Shopping cart software allows purchase from multiple sellers at the same time, with individual invoices created for each seller's items.
Cookies allow shoppers access to their shopping cart from anywhere on the auction pages.
Buy It! Items listed in the same manner as an auction item.
Eliminates the need for separate classified ad programs.
Auction Ending

Ending process runs automatically at a time set by the site owner.
Ending process removes ended items from the Auction Display areas.
Key Feature: Items won by one bidder, from one seller, in a given day are totaled and sent in one invoice style email.
Duplicate emails sent to the bidder and the seller, addressed to each other.
Results saved to both members Purchases/Sales transaction history.
Site Owner receives email that the process has been completed, which includes site statistics for that day. These stats include: item's viewed, bids, new sellers, new bidders, new items, closed items, with daily and all time stats for each.
Ending process concludes by creating the megalist index of all open items on the site for Bidfind indexing.

Member Lookups -- Displays Name and Contact Info, links to accounting, change password, items bid on, items listed, suspend and reinstate.

Display Templates

Templates are the key software element that enable simple customization, global changes, and creativity to be added to an auction site without changing the core of the software. This translates into saving money and time, since the skill level required to maintian an auction site is lessened significantly.

Revenue and Billing

Revenue is generated on an auction site by tracking the activity of the sellers of the site.
Optional fees are available for: Item Insertions (3 levels), Sales Fees (3 levels), Image Upload, Featured auctions, item bolding, and attention grabbing arrows.
The program will adapt well to any banner rotation program.
Additional revenue sources for a site might include selling ad space in email messages, special arrangements with volume sellers, as well as pay-per-click banners such as through safe-audit and clicktrade.
Billing is done on a monthly basis through the Site Manager. Your sellers will receive email invoices with the click of a button. The sellers may view their detailed invoices online at any time.
