New publisher launches business

September 24, 2000 -- Grendel Press, a publisher of business and other trade books, has opened its doors in Loveland, Colo. The publishing company is producing a new business series entitled The ABCs of Business."

These books are designed specifically for the small and medium-sized business market," says Sally Slack, publisher. So many business books available today speak in high level theory on business topics. This series is different. Its being written for the business owner who just wants to know how to do something . . . now."

Small businesses have provided nearly 20 million net new jobs in the U.S. economy since 1992, according to the Small Business Association (1999). With approximately 24 million small businesses in the U.S., Grendel Press is targeting what it believes is a strong growth market despite the uncertainties of todays economy. Small business owners, says Slack, are often required to wear numerous hats in order to stay profitable.

The 'ABC series is for those business owners who must handle a portion of the business theyre just not comfortable with," says Slack. The books are written in plain English, not jargon. They offer concrete examples and tips for going out and getting something accomplished without spending a lot of time or money."

The first two books feature public relations and internal communications. They will be available January 2002. Additional topics are currently being planned.
