TROUT FISHING IN AMERICA REELS IN NEW TUNES WITH LATEST RELEASE "inFINity"

Duo's Fifth Family Album Available Now

Prairie Grove, AR - Award-winning recording group Trout Fishing in America scales new heights with inFINity, the band's fifth album for family listening. As is true of all of their releases, Trout Fishing in America balances razor-sharp musicianship with lyrics that never talk down to kids. The latest release from independent label Trout Records, inFINity swam into stores nationwide mid-September. inFINity has won a NAPPA Gold Award (National Association of Parenting Publication Awards) and was featured as "Best of the Year" by Parents Magazine.

Trout Fishing in America (aka Keith Grimwood and Ezra Idlet) saw the inFINite musical possibilities seamlessly leap from folk to rock to jazz to, yes, even some funky stuff in the course of 13 songs, all of which walk that delicate balance of entertaining kids and adults alike.

"inFINity is our newest collection of off-center observations on kids, life and the dizzy-spinning world we live in," say Grimwood and Idlet, both fathers who find endless inspiration from their own children.

The band's trademark humor is evident on several songs, notably "You Can't Go" and the relentlessly peppy "Happy That You're Here." "Sailing" indulges the duo's fondness for puns, and "Your Name Backwards" goes for the childhood wordplay that young listeners enjoy.

"Are We There Yet?" deals with long car trips and how a family finds a way to pass the time. "Patience is not something we're born with," says Idlet, "it's something we learn on long car trips." "Junk Food Jump" combines a '70s musical vibe (Grimwood refers to it as "Shaft meets Charlie Brown") with a menu that only a kid could come up with. The album's final track, "Say Something Sweet," has its origins from nearly a half-century ago, when Grimwood's dad made up a little ditty to sing to the crying infant Keith.

Trout Fishing in America is a nationally acclaimed performing and recording group based in northwest Arkansas. While they have a strong following for their sophisticated repertoire of music for grownups, they have also garnered national awards for their four previous recordings for families. The duo has been featured on the Today Show, NPR's "All Things Considered" and "Morning Edition," and has performed at the White House. With a busy performing schedule this year at venues around the nation, Trout Fishing in America is an especially good catch live in concert.
