Chicago, IL (January 3, 2001) RadioWave.com, creator of the web¡¦s leading Internet Radio Network, today announced the appointment of Tom McCarthy as VP/Chief Technology Officer. Formerly the Director of Worldwide Engineering Operations at Bose, McCarthy brings extensive technology management experience to RadioWave.com where he will provide strategic guidance in the acquisition and development of enabling technologies, as well as leadership for the company¡¦s engineering resources.
As Director of Operations at Bose, McCarthy was responsible for overall engineering operations, which included research and development budgeting, engineering processes, recruiting and business alliances. McCarthy championed a technical business collaboration initiative to develop business-to-business content delivery alliances, with technologies that included DSP, streaming content delivery, networking, acoustics, analog and digital design.

Before his tenure at Bose, McCarthy¡¦s experience included senior technical and general management roles in both Lockheed Martin and General Electric. As Program Director at Lockheed he led the development and competitive pursuit of complex airborne technology business, as well as performing business area management duties. As Program General Manager of Worldwide Minehunting Sonar Business at General Electric, McCarthy oversaw all aspects of engineering, manufacturing, and business development. In addition, he led the development and demonstration of the first real-time software implementation of the F-22 aircraft¡¦s electronic warfare function.
McCarthy holds an Executive MBA from Boston University, MSEE from Syracuse University, and a BSEE from Lowell University, among other technical and business education.
