PD Inc. Utilizes Q Comms Qxpress Point of Sale Activation Terminals to Deliver Powerful Benefits to Convenience Store and Other Retail Operators

(Orem, UT) – January 23, 2001 – Q Comm International, Inc. (OTC BB: QCCM), a prepaid telecom products and information services company, announced Tuesday that PD Inc., one of the Companys authorized distributors, has begun placing the Companys Qxpress point-of-sale activation (POSA) terminals in retail stores in Eastern Missouri and Southern Illinois.

With more than 30 Qxpress installations complete to date and steadily growing, PD Inc. is delivering powerful benefits to several convenience store and other retail operators in Missouri and Illinois who offer prepaid telecom products and services including prepaid wireless, prepaid phone cards, and prepaid home dial tone.

Through the Qxpress electronic, product delivery and management system, PD Inc. enables retailers to instantly provide prepaid wireless and any other prepaid service on demand with the touch of a few buttons. The Qxpress terminal, which looks similar to a credit-card swipe terminal, connects to a standard phone line and downloads Personal Identification Numbers (P.I.N.s) that the machine then prints on a blank card with an 800 number and simple activation instructions. Through this just-in-time inventory system, Qxpress retailers avoid all inventory expenses associated with prepaid wireless, phone cards and other services since the system prints charged" cards on demand.

Retailers achieve several tremendous benefits when you enable them to offer products with no inventory on hand," says Joe Cavazos, President of PD Inc. Convenience and grocery stores are inventory laden and inventory conscious and regardless of whether its crackers, milk, or cigarettes, they continually count their inventory. With me, retailers are never out of prepaid telecom stock and they appreciate that.

With Qxpress terminals installed in their stores, retailers have less to worry about since there isnt a bunch of expensive prepaid telecom inventory sitting on their shelves. Without charged cards lying around, shrinkage from customers and employees is eliminated. When I train a stores personnel, all I have to do is mention that the system monitors their activity and that alone virtually eliminates shrinkage from employees.

Retailers also have access to sales activity reports with Qxpress. This is a major benefit that is not available with the traditional hanging-card format.

Flexibility is another benefit that retailers appreciate. Prepaid telecom prices frequently change. As prices change, all I have to do is change posters at the retailers stores. Both the retailer and myself instantly enjoy the benefits of fresh product. However, everyone else has to eat their inventory of hard cards or wait until their inventory is depleted. My retailers are never stuck with obsolete inventory."

Qxpress also offers product flexibility. The Qxpress system carries the built-in abilities to prepay anything," says Steve Flaherty, President of Q Comm International, Inc. This includes multiple products from multiple carriers and even non-telecom products. Once installed in a retail location, virtually any item that can be sold can be prepaid through the Qxpress product distribution platform. Adding products in this way can really help boost a retailers sales and profitability."
