DirectNET Internet Workstation Announced --
New System allows Merchants, Consumers and Card Issuers
to view and modify data over the Internet.
DATELINE: Pepperell, MA . . .
POS/ware Inc., a Pepperell, Massachusetts-based firm specializing in Point-of-sale systems, has announced the creation of its DirectNET Internet Workstation.
The Internet Workstation allows merchants, consumers and card issuers using DirectNET to view and modify data over the Internet.
An online transaction processing program for private label or third party cards, DirectNET offers a number of benefits to companies interested in better managing their point-of-sale data. Through DirectNET, information can be captured for marketing purposes. Credit card processing can be consolidated across multiple, different systems. And multiple sites can be tied together in a single, unified data network.
DirectNET supports third party credit card (MasterCard, Visa, Discover, American Express) and private label transactions. In addition to credit or purchase transactions, private label cards might also track frequent user, prepaid usage, debit or discount transactions posted to a property management system. Transactions may originate from a variety of sources, including point-of-sale terminals, property management systems, and gasoline dispensing systems. Possible transaction destinations are credit card processing hosts, property management systems and DirectNET itself, for private label cards.
DirectNET is currently used within the resort, hospitality, restaurant, banking and petroleum markets. It can be adapted to serve other markets, according to client request.
DirectNET can accommodate both Verifone and Hypercom point-of-sale terminals. This represents more than 90% of all general point-of-sale terminals in use today. DirectNET can receive transaction data from both corporate LAN-based systems and phone lines. DirectNET supports leased line and dial-in access to credit card processing hosts. DirectNET also supports magnetic key lock equipment. This allows clients to issue key lock cards that can be used to purchase items at merchant locations and post the transaction back to the property management system for credit card payment.
"Almost any sized business can reap extensive benefits by having a Point-Of-Sale system tailored to their needs, and a convenient feature is an Internet workstation" said Carroll Rosenstein, president and co-founder of POS/ware. Co-founder Nelson Rosenstein noted, "With years
of research, development and refinement behind them, our products offer a flexibility, expandability and ease of use that businesses of all kinds can rely upon.."
POS/ware, Inc. is located at 107 Elm St. in Pepperell, MA. The firm can be reached by phone at (978) 433-8869 or by e-mail at posware@net1plus.com.
