Preston’s What’s On Guide Launched

Wondering what you can do in Preston this weekend? Up until now, promoters in town relied heavily on flyering the streets to keep the local residents informed of events and club nights…

Until now…

Skiddle.com has launched Preston’s biggest, most up-to-date guide to clubbing, gigs and bar events. No other resource in the UK covers Preston with such detail as skiddle.com.

The Guide contains over 110 local events every week, covering every club and large bar in town, plus national events such as festivals and concerts. Everything is fully searchable and online 24 hours a day at http://www.skiddle.com

·    Updated Daily by a team of 20 student club reporters

·    Full details of every event – Opening Times, Line-ups, Entry Costs, Offers and lots more

·    Online Maps and Taxi-Searches to help you plan your night

·    Reviews and Photo Galleries of major events

·    Public Comments on all the venues

·    Advance listings for many local and regional clubs, including Feel, Cream, and Gatecrasher – often listed before any other publication!

The guide also contains a high-tech “Text Invite” service – whereby visitors can invite their friends to events, simply by entering their mobile phone number. The message is delivered instantly to any phone network, containing full details of the event.

About skiddle.com

The site has been created by skiddle.com, a team run by 3 partners – Ben Sebborn, Ruth Davies and Richard Dyer – all local students. Since being set-up last September, the partners have successfully recruited 25 student reporters, many on Journalism courses at the University of Central Lancashire. Not only does the site provide an excellent opportunity for work experience, but also creates a project that students can build a truly successful business from.
