Japanese Streaming Industry Revolutionized
by New Partnership
eZuz, Fujitsu FIP and EyeWonder partner to forge new standard of streaming technology destined to provide Broadband experience on any bandwidth
Tokyo, Japan, October 3, 2001 ・eZuz Japan KK, a leader in internet based technologies and services has partnered with EyeWonder, the creator of instant streaming video technologies for Internet and wireless devices, to offer instant streaming video and audio to the Japanese Marketplace. The partnership will effectively establish EyeWonder Japan, as an operating division of eZuz Japan KK. Fujitsu FIP will be the back end provider and exclusive Application Service Provider (ASP), with their new state-of-the art data center.
The mandate of the new division will be to promote EyeWonders EYERIS technology. EyeWonders suite of products provide java based streaming media, content and e-mails which load seamlessly without the need for any end user plug-in or media players, from as little as a 28k modem. The EyeWonder technology automatically detects the end-users bandwidth to provide the optimal audio and video experience. Development specifically for Japanese mobile devices will commence very shortly.
We are very pleased to offer this type of solution to the growing, diverse Japanese market,・according to Junichi Fujimoto, Director eZuz Japan KK, the end user experience is tremendous. The ease of implementation will provide an exciting multimedia solution for the communication of marketing messages as well as provide a new dimension to corporate communications. It is a pleasure to work with our partners, who are recognized industry leaders.・
Japan is the worlds second largest consumer market, and according to a recent report in Internet magazine, streaming has increased 500% in the last year. This increase is suggests that it is still in the penetration stage in the country.
Japan has tremendous potential for this type of technology・ according to Keiichi Kitajima, Executive Director, Fujitsu FIP Corporation, the market wants the broadband experience, but it will take time given the current infrastructure growth・this solution immediately fills the need far ahead of schedule. The corporate communications industry will be forever changed, as we are just beginning to fulfill the long awaited potential of both intranets as well as the Internet.・
We are pleased with EyeWonders expansion into the Japanese market with such strong partners. Japan supports such a vigorous advertising and communications industry,・says John Vincent, CEO of EyeWonder, Inc. High-speed Internet connections in Japan are still fairly limited. Currently, Video and audio online banner ads can take several minutes to download on a low-speed, narrow-band connection. This is about to change.
The Japanese online ad and communications industry needs an instant streaming technology that can deliver over the narrow bandwidth in the marketplace,・states Vincent. EyeWonders efficient EYERIS coder/decoder enables Internet users to experience streaming video and audio within banner ads without the need for user-initiated media players. As Vincent explains, The streaming content plays as the web page or e-mail loads, which is optimized for the users connection speed based on our automatic detection system.・
