MedicalTranscription.com Adds Web Access to its Lineup of Services
Physicians will now be able to access their patient reports online from multiple locations, through a secure web portal provided by MedicalTranscription.com. Similar to an ASP, physicians and records clerks are able to not only access records via the new portal, but to edit them while listening to the original sound file. And the reports are delivered in a format that's easily integrated into many EMR systems.
New York, NY October 9, 2001: Physicians will now be able to access their patient reports online from multiple locations, through a secure web portal provided by MedicalTranscription.com. Coinciding with the AHIMA (American Health Information Management Association) Annual Meeting in Miami Beach this October, MedicalTranscription.com announces the addition of its new SSL-secure web access delivery system to the current lineup of transcription delivery methods, which include:
modem-to-modem transfer
encrypted FTP
delivery directly to on-site database
encrypted e-mail.
"The new web portal enables physicians to access their reports from any location at any time," says John Nistad, MedicalTranscription.com's VP of Information Technology. "For those physicians working from multiple sites this new feature is extremely beneficial. Transcribed patient records are available at their fingertips." Web access is also very easy to use. Says Nistad, "The training involved in teaching a medical office clerk to use a browser to access records is insignificant when compared to that of teaching the clerk to orchestrate ftp, or even encrypted e-mail downloads."
The path to paperless
Utilizing SSL, or secure socket layer technology, as well as firewalls and encryption technology, MedicalTranscription.com offers the highest security measures available today. In fact, SSL security is used by banks that do business on the internet. After dictation, transcription is performed within 24 hours and reports are not only available online, but searchable by patient name, doctor ID, medical record number, job type, date range, job status and more. Dictation capture is performed via:
Toll-free dial in
Hand held digital recorders
PDAs
Tapping into legacy dictation systems
Voice file/editing capabilities
MedicalTranscription.com has reduced dictation/transcription/delivery cycles by making the tools available to physicians that enhance the efficiency of transcription functions. Physicians and records clerks are able to not only access records via the new portal, but to edit them while listening to the original sound file. And the reports are delivered in a format that's easily integrated into many EMR systems. With the office letterhead already integrated into the document, the note is attractive and professional, and ready to forward on to referring physicians or submit for reimbursement.
"We're proud to offer secure technology to practices that were near-panicked regarding HIPAA," says MedicalTranscription.com CEO Melinda Decker. "We've done the homework and our solutions have provided relief to medical practice managers nationwide." MedicalTranscription.com's optional services include on-site database, CD archive and IT consulting.
