Olympic Medallist Bill Toomey Launches Website

Online resource offers current and biographical information, articles, photos and links for Bill Toomey, Olympic movement leader, broadcast/sports celebrity and health activist.

[Oct 12, 2001] - The official website of Bill Toomey launched this week, offering new and biographical information, interviews, photographs and links on the 1968 Olympic decathlon gold medallist. Toomey continues to excel in the world Olympic movement and is an active author, speaker and broadcast personality. He co-hosts the weekly radio show "The Jock and The Doc" with Dr. Diana Schwarzbein.

Many of Toomey's Olympic and World Records in the decathlon and pentathlon stand unbroken more than 30 years later. He received the Distinguished Service Award from the United States Sports Academy in 2000, the Sullivan Award in 1969, and was inducted into the USA Track & Field Hall of Fame in 1975.
