NEW YORK – The phone rings. Companys coming over in 30 minutes, and youre in a panic. What do you tackle first? Here is an easy-to-follow schedule to help keep you calm as you clean-up.

30 Minutes Before Guests Arrive
- Clutter is the best way to make a bad first impression. Remove clutter from tables, countertops and furniture, and store groceries and food items in the pantry. Hang up coats and stash shoes in the closet.
- Unmade beds look sloppy, so quickly make the beds and fluff the pillows for a finished look.

20 Minutes Before Guests Arrive
You dont have time to pull out several different cleaning products or worry about which product cleans what. You need an all-purpose cleaner that is safe on most surfaces like Murphy® Oil Soap.
- Spray a pair of old socks with Murphy Oil Soap, put them on your hands, and wipe away dust on all surfaces in every room of the house. Dust and dirt will cling to the socks, which you can throw away or in the wash when you are finished.
- Use Murphys® in the bathroom to freshen the tile, sink and vanity areas. Pour a few drops of Murphys into the toilet, swish around with a brush and flush. Not only will your bathroom be spotless, but it will also smell great, too!

10 Minutes Before Guests Arrive
- Take out the trash, deodorize the inside of the trash can with a spritz of Murphys, and put in a clean liner.
- Pull out the vacuum and quickly run over high traffic areas. Dust bunnies may have appeared on your carpet after your whirlwind dusting through the house.
