Casting Begins For Audio Comedy-- "Voice Troupe" being developed
Voices are being sought for the audio comedy Ambassador Service. Location of the voice actors is not as important as the quality of the voice.
Writer/Producer Robert Parson says I plan on using the Internet as a virtual production house. Actors will be able to voice their parts in their own homes if they desire."
"Ambassador Service" tells the story of the new U.S. Ambassador to a tiny island nation. Some of its satire, some of its broad comedy. Theres even a touch of absurdity in a couple episodes."
The program is a multi-part series that will be distributed on the Internet. Several online distribution points are being considered. There may be some traditional marketing, but the Internet is the most cost-effective for small projects like this."
Parson says most of the audio comedy hes found on the Internet has been crude, mean-spirited, and offensive. My goal was to create a humorous story that didnt depend on insults and foul language to carry the laughter. I would be happy to have the characters in this story over for a family dinner."
Anyone is invited to tryout for a part, especially amateurs. Its unlikely voice actors will be paid for their work, although there are plans for payment if there is any revenue generated by "Ambassador Service." I have no delusions about whether this is a money making project. This is just for fun. If I can make a few dollars, then thats fine too. But most profit will be distributed to the voice actors"
Parson hopes to build a talent bank for future projects. I would hope that a 'voice troupe can be established. I have another series Im writing now. Im fairly sure there are other amateur or semi-professional projects that can use some help."
Three males and two females are being sought for "Ambassador Service," all of whom will be performing multiple roles. Special consideration will be given to people who can speak in convincing Jamaican or Indian (not Native American) accents.
