Sports Academy President Recognition For Work in Sport Education and Distance Learning
The United States Sports Academy announced today that the President and founder of the Sports Academy, Dr. Thomas P. Rosandich, has received a special award from Swinburne Graduate School of Integrative Medicine located in Pearcedale, Australia and will receive the Presidents Award given at the upcoming United States Track Coaches Association Convention being held in Mobile, AL from November 27-December 1
Daphne, AL (PRWEB) November 4, 2001 - The United States Sports Academy announced today that the President and founder of the Sports Academy, Dr. Thomas P. Rosandich, has received a special award from Swinburne Graduate School of Integrative Medicine located in Pearcedale, Australia and will receive the Presidents Award given at the upcoming United States Track Coaches Association Convention being held in Mobile, AL from November 27-December 1.
President Rosandich was honored with the ‘Inaugural Award of Life Fellow and Diplomate for distinguished international recognition from Dr. Brian Costello of Swinburne Graduate School of Integrative Medicine. Dr. Costello reinforced the success that Dr. Rosandich has seen by further stating that the award was given for his outstanding professionalism in facilitating Sports Medicine and Advanced post-graduate Distance Learning Courses with exemplar integrative medicine liaison." The Sports Academy recently signed a protocol with Swinburne for the purpose of mutual educational purposes in distance learning. Along with the award, the President was also named to the Executive Board at Swinburne.
Dr. Rosandich is also being honored for his ‘many years of service and dedication to all of sport but most particularly to track and field which his efforts have had a significant impact on the world of track & field and cross country. USTCA President Sam Bell will present Dr. Rosandich with the award at noon, at the Hall of Fame luncheon on Saturday, December 1 at the Mobile Convention Center. Sam Bell, President of the USTCA and former Big Ten Champion track coach at the University of Indiana, will be on hand to present the award. James Carnes, Executive Director of the USTCA, is a member of the Board of Trustees for the Sports Academy.
I am most honored by this award, even more than other awards that I have received from the Olympic Committee," Dr. Rosandich said. It is an honor to be given this award from my peers in the profession of track and field, which totally dominated my life for many years, both nationally and internationally."
The USTCA represents coaches associations from all aspects of track & field and cross-country. Programs sponsored by the USTCA include: The United States Track Coaches Hall of Fame; Regional and National Coach of the Year awards; The U.S. Collegiate Track & Field Series; The U.S. High School Track & Field Series; the All Academic Student Athlete Awards; and The Coaches Diploma Program.
The Academy offers Master of Sport Science degrees in coaching, fitness, management, and medicine, a Doctor of Sport Management degree and a Doctor of Sport Education degree in sport management.
