Tridium and Eagle Technology form partnership to link Building Automation Systems with Facilities Maintenance Management Software

Tridium Inc. and Eagle Technology Inc. have formed an alliance to benefit building/facility management. The companys have developed an interface that connects Eagle's maintenance software to any popular BAS on the market.

Eagle Technology, Inc.(Mequon, WI), a worldwide provider of maintenance management software, has entered a strategic alliance with Tridium, Inc. (Richmond, VA), a leading developer of internet-enabled automation software infrastructure and applications.

As part of the alliance, the companies have developed an interface between Tridiums VyKon Building Control Suite and Eagles ProTeus II Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). The new ProTeus/VyKon Interface is the first of its kind to provide web-based interoperability between modern Building Automation System (BAS) environments and client/server maintenance management software.

The ProTeus & VyKon Connection:

The ProTeus/VyKon interface associates smart devices (alarms, maximum runtime limits and other defined real-time" conditions such as temperature readings) from a facilitys BAS with specific maintenance work orders in ProTeus II. When the BAS signals an alarm condition, a work order generates automatically. Users can also generate work orders on command. The work orders include useful data such as sensor conditions and equipment information, allowing a more efficient response from maintenance personnel when alarm conditions are detected.

The ProTeus/VyKon interface is a wonderful opportunity for facility management professionals looking for an interoperable solution," said Eagle President, Harshad Shah, Automatic work orders make maintenance more efficient, allow better response to alarm conditions, and reduce maintenance costs."

The Building Automation System & VyKon Connection:

BAS are used to monitor and control HVAC, lighting, energy and other facility systems. VyKon lets users monitor, automate and control their BAS for temperature, heating, ventilation and lighting from anywhere in the world via the Internet. VyKon allows access to multiple systems, regardless of vendor so that companies can choose the best BAS to meet their building control needs.

VyKon is powered by the revolutionary Niagara Framework, a suite of Java -based products designed to integrate a variety of devices and protocols into a common distributed automation system. It incorporates the worlds first software technology to integrate Lonworks, BACnet, Modbus and vendor specific proprietary protocols with a variety of Internet standards into a common object model, embedded at the controller level and supported by standard Web browsers. VyKon also includes integrated network management tools to support the design, configuration, installation and maintenance of interoperable networks.

ProTeus II Maintenance Management Software
Eagles ProTeus II CMMS is one of the premier maintenance software systems on the market. ProTeus II takes advantage of Eagles proprietary CS2 Database Optimization Technology to operate 3-5 times faster than any competitive program. It excels at maintenance tasks such as running preventive maintenance programs, streamlining inventory management, and improving labor scheduling.
