Emkay Receives Bluetooth Product Qualification Version 1.1

- Emkay Innovative Products announces today it received Bluetooth Product Qualification Version 1.1 for its BluetoothTM Audio Headset (RF-5922). Emkay will be demonstrating the wireless headset at the COMDEX ‘01 Exhibition (LVCC, Central Hall, Bluetooth Pavilion #L5142-23BLU).

Las Vegas, Nevada, November 12, 2001 - Emkay Innovative Products, a division of Knowles Electronics LLC, one of the leading manufacturers of audio transducers and microphone headsets, announces today it received Bluetooth Product Qualification Version 1.1 for its BluetoothTM Audio Headset (RF-5922). Emkay will be demonstrating the wireless headset at the COMDEX ‘01 Exhibition (LVCC, Central Hall, Bluetooth Pavilion #L5142-23BLU).

Emkays BluetoothTM headset is a single ear, lightweight (30gm) wireless solution that can be used in a variety of applications. The headset incorporates a built-in BluetoothTM chipset that provides a wireless link within 10m of another BluetoothTM enabled device. To further support the safe and optimum use of mobile speech platforms, the headset allows users to pick up and end calls, adjust volume, and voice dial. Also utilized is Emkays ultra noise canceling microphone, which optimizes the performance for voice dialing and voice command applications.

Bluetooth is a wireless technology standard introduced in 1998, by Ericsson, IBM, Intel, Nokia, and Toshiba. The Bluetooth specifications use low-cost, short-range radio signals to provide connections to devices such as mobile phones, handheld devices, and mobile computers. Emkay is among the more than 2,500 adopting companies who are members of Bluetooths Special Interest Group (SIG).
