Global Business Technology Services Private Limited (GBTS) specialises in offering software solutions and services to the insurance, reinsurance, banking and other financial services companies globally.

According to the Chairman, Mr. Loay Al Naqib, who visited the global headquarters in Chennai, India recently, the key differentiators of GBTS would be its core competency in the insurance domain and the flexibility in striking alliances with appropriate partners in a mutually beneficial manner. Mr. Al Naqib, who is also the CEO of Alea Franchisee for Emerging Markets said that he was very impressed with the infrastructure established by GBTS, its commitment to technology and the quality of the software professionals at GBTS. He added that the promoters are committed to ensure GBTS succeed in its mission and that Alea will extend all its support for promoting the business offering from GBTS.

GBTS has already established a business relationship with Pirel, Canada for marketing and implementing its products. Pirel is a printing management specialist - successfully offering online archiving and print management solutions for the past seven years in North America (Canada and the USA). Two of GBTS software professionals are already undergoing training at Pirel, to prepare themselves for handling the print management solutions for GBTS, elsewhere in the world.

To further its technological advantage, GBTS is in the process of strengthening its different Centers of Excellence. It is noteworthy that GBTS has Centers of Excellence to pursue its specialisation in Mainframe Technologies, Client-Server Technologies and Web Technologies. The highlight of the company's commitment to technology is the fourth Center of Excellence for Technology Research and Solutions across the other three technologies. This CoE is expected to provide the right direction to the entire organisation in its pursuit of excellence.

In addition, GBTS is also planning to undertake Datacenter management for overseas customers. The company believes that by combining its technological edge with the cost benefits (by operating out of India where there is abundance of qualified and experienced software professionals), it can offer distinct advantages to its global customers. The company has already established a Virtual Private Network (VPN) from its software development center in Chennai to the USA.

GBTS has already started its efforts on attaining quality certifications. As a first step, GBTS would aim to attain ISO9001-2000 certification by 2Q2002. Thereafter, GBTS will pursue with its passion to attain the highest levels of SEI-CMM process maturity.
