WEBSITE OFFERS CLASSES THAT BRING BEGINNINGS OF HEALING AND HOPE FOR WOMEN
Internet site dedicated to helping women overcome domestic abuse and other traumas is offering classes in writing.
Toledo, OH--Women seeking a path to healing can sign up for two new classes offered at A Peace of Life, the website and magazine dedicated to helping survivors of abuse. Starting the last week of November will be an online class called Writing For Publication, taught by founder and president Heather L. Shepherd, a certified Ohio Adult Education Teacher. The three-week, two-session per week class will run from November 26, 2001 to December 12, 2001, and cover all aspects of selling articles and essays to newspapers and magazines. "Many women who are survivors are looking to not only make money, but to also find their voice in writing," says Heather L. Shepherd, founder and president. "This is the perfect vehicle for them to do so."
The second offering, Journaling, will be taught by Anna Morvee, and begins November 12, 2001. "We had enough interest in that class that we immediately put a second series on the schedule," says Shepherd. "Journaling is a great tool for working through feelings and chronicling life experiences." The first class runs until the second week of December. The second four-week session will begin January 1, 2002.
About A Peace of Life
A Peace of life started as a dream--a vision of understanding, hope, love and human trust. That all survivors could find their way to these joys of Life and feel the Beauty of Peace. That Survivors may feel validation from their stories, and that A Peace of Life could be the way for all survivors voices to be heard. Founded by Ohio resident Heather Shepherd, the group has one common goal--to share with other victims and survivors of abuse that there is hope and a future to live an abuse free life.
