Advanced Image Processing Heads up a Lengthy List of Powerful New Features Added to version 13 of LEADTOOLS' Raster Imaging Toolkit

Charlotte, NC (PRWEB) November 22, 2001 - - LEAD Technologies, Inc., the leading provider of toolkits designed to help software developers integrate imaging functionality into their applications, today announced the release of version 13 of its award-winning Raster Imaging developer toolkit.

Raster Imaging and Raster Imaging Pro are the cornerstones of LEAD's line of imaging toolkits, and with version 13, these popular products have the most image processing power available in the industry. In addition, version 13 adds expanded TWAIN support, advanced color conversion functions, and the ability to compress images in memory. New common dialogs have been enhanced with a progressive new look and feature set. Also, additional image formats are being supported, pushing the number of supported image formats count to over 70.

Rich Little, President of LEAD Technologies says, "LEADTOOLS Raster Imaging is the foundation for our developer toolkit line, so we wanted version 13 to be our strongest upgrade yet, adding more image processing enhancements and new TWAIN support which will carry through to each of our other toolkits including our upcoming .NET release."

LEADTOOLS image processing enhancements include features such as unsharp mask, red eye removal, lossless transforms on JPEG and CMP, the ability to resize bitmaps during the load process, support for anti-aliasing, support for JPEG-LAB and TIFF-LAB, and much more. Expanded TWAIN support includes performance enhancements of Memory Buffered Transfer, as well as the save of the Memory Buffered Transfer data directly to a file. New image format support includes IBM AFP, PTOCA, Wireless Bitmap (WBMP), a format used by wireless Internet devices, and many others. Upgraded color conversion support allows more conversion options to provide better color matching, flexibility and user customization capabilities. LEADTOOLS advanced compression in memory options allow image data to move through the system faster, as well as allowing customers to overcome Windowsâ image size limitations. Also, new common dialog properties will save development time and give the end users of developers applications a consistent look and feel.

The LEADTOOLS version 13 Raster Imaging toolkit will carry LEADs new .NET controls built to take advantage of Microsofts Visual Studio .NET, as well as stand as the platform toolkit for the new LEADTOOLS Digital Paint Module.
