This years annual gala awards banquet -- the 6th Annual Golden Satellite Awards presentation- is scheduled for January 19, 2002 at the St. Regis Hotel in Century City.
Past nominees have included well-known celebrities including Catherine Zeta-Jones, Robert DeNiro, George Clooney, Helen Hunt, Cameron Diaz, Holly Hunter, Steven Soderbergh and many others. Last years Award for Outstanding Artistic Contribution for the Entertainment Industry went to Francis Ford Coppola. This years Award will be presented to legendary movie star Karl Malden. Superstar Michael Douglas, a longtime friend of Mr. Malden, will be presenting the award.
