ONE LITTLE BUSINESS SPARKLES THROUGH TOUGH TIMES

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Sparklesoup Studios, a publisher and producer of the Gifted Girls Series of books and gifts prepares to release Book 2 of the Lucy character series, as sales from Book 1 takes off.

December 2001, Dallas, TX - Stories of the recession, stories of terrorist threats, stories of lay-offs, and stock prices falling fills the air this Christmas season with gloom and more gloom. But one little business, a small publisher with a just-released title: Lucy And The Liberty Quilt: Book 1 of the Gifted Girls Series has reasons to celebrate. Sales of the limited edition, with portions of the proceeds going to The American Red Cross, is taking off even before the book hits retail bookstores.

"People like to read about inspiring characters, hear about good news, and escape momentarily into a good adventure especially in times like these," says creator and writer of the Gifted Girls Series, Victoria London. "The Gifted Girls Series provides this, and that's why it's becoming popular. Children specifically between the ages of 7 to 12 or the pre-teens watch the news all the time and see horrible things. They're aware of what's going on in the world, but they still have a childhood to live."

Lucy and The Liberty Quilt, like all the Gifted Girls Series books deals with a mature issue, but in an entertaining way, which attempts not to talk down to its audience. In Lucy and The Liberty Quilt, a story that takes place in modern day USA, the character Lucy Lee, like everyone else in the world is rocked by the unbelievable bombing event of New Yorks World Trade Center.

Victoria London, said that the story of Lucy and The Liberty Quilt, was written a week after the September 11 event. "Because of its publication timing, I believe it is the first children's fiction book published to address this event. The tragedy is still fresh in everyone's minds. 5 to 10 years from now, a child will look back on his or her copy of Lucy And The Liberty Quilt and be reminded of the significance of this event because they actually experienced it. "

Although Lucy and The Liberty Quilt is sold on Amazon.com, sales have been taking off on the publisher's own site, Sparklesoup.com where Victoria London is signing all books purchased up to December 20, 2001.

Lucy and The Beauty Queen: Book 2 is schedule for publication for early 2002. "In this book, Lucy goes back in time to ancient Egypt where she meets Cleopatra and learns the lesson of beauty and leadership," said Victoria London. "So many girls and boys face the issues of beauty or self-image today that many are resorting to dangerous diet supplements or diets to be beautiful or accepted. Lucy and The Beauty Queen will be addressing this issue."

Sparklesoup Studios, producer of the Gifted Girls Series, is dedicated to bringing high-quality products to girls and boys around the world that would instill and enforce positive social and moral values.
