FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

12th December 2001 - Preloved Classifieds (http://www.preloved.co.uk) has found that the threat of recession in the UK is driving more people to buy and sell second hand over the internet.

"The number of visitors to Preloved has shot up in the last few months feeding the demand for second hand goods", says Ian Buzer, director of Preloved.

"Consumers are becoming increasingly cautious, so buying second hand has become the perfect alternative".

Preloved members have been buying and selling furiously over the last few weeks to generate reserve cash, just in case the UK does enter a period of recession. The items with the biggest increase in activity are cars and furniture.

For many Preloved members, buying and selling second hand has become second nature. Mrs. S. Carr recently emailed Preloved with her comments "It looks like a great site. I hope to use it many times as a buyer and a seller. I guess I've always been a Prelover!!" and so did Mr. Laber telling Preloved "I have already bought a couple of times so thought I would try selling"

With the build up to Christmas and many families tightening their belts, Preloved expects to see even more people buying and selling second hand in the coming months.
