Building soon for DaimlerChrysler - Multi-Million € Contract for AVL

AVL as overall contractor for DaimlerChrysler Motorenhaus III

DaimlerChrysler AG has engaged AVL to build a seven-story testing and test bed facility for the Mercedes-Benz Technology-Center (MTC) at Untertürkheim in Germany, containing a total of 60 test modules. The value of the contract for the 'Motorenhaus III' project is in the region of 100 million Euros. As overall contractor, AVL will take responsibility for project management, system integration, construction and commissioning of the whole undertaking, as well as delivering key systems e.g. in the areas of automation, indicating and fuel flow measurement. The 'Motorenhaus III' facility will be completed in 2004.

AVL is the world's largest privately owned and independent company for the development of powertrain systems with internal combustion engines as well as instrumentation and test systems, employing 2100 staff world-wide. In Germany, AVL is represented by its own sales and service affiliate employing 240 staff in Mainz Kastel, and offices in various sites including Stuttgart, Wolfsburg, Munich, Mannheim, Berlin, Cologne, and Aachen. AVL Germany offers services in the areas of project management, design / calculation, maintenance and operation of test beds for vehicle manufacturers.
