Souler Rhythm go to Moles Club
News & review of Souler Rhythm, UK Acid Jazz, Fusion, Funk band.
Souler Rhythm from Leamington Spa in the Midlands have just been booked to appear at the famous Moles Club, in Bath, for Saturday 2nd February 2001. Moles reserve Saturdays to showcase the very best of new bands in the UK; the ones the music business will be clamouring over next year. In the past Moles have featured Blur, Oasis and the Manic Street Preachers to name just a few.
The band have an assured stage presence that only true professionals can carry off. Their funked up sound and energetic performance is pure excitement. Canadian lead singer Kev, struts the stage like the cock of the yard, whilst Chris Seager and the rest of the group are as far from shoe-gazing as you can get.
Recently described by one promoter as Acid Jazz meets Roy Ayers and the James Taylor Quartet, Souler Rhythms style is difficult to label. They describe their music as jazz fusion and funk! Theyre so good at it youd think they've been playing this stuff since jazz began, with a natural progression from Boogie-Woogie, Go-Go Music right into 70s Soul-Jazz and Funk up to todays modern World Jazz Fusion.
The band's busy gig list means you should be able to find them playing somewhere close to you. Their MP3.COM web-site will give you full listings for forthcoming events. www.mp3.com/souler_rhythm
Go and see them now; before they sign with a top label when youll have to queue up for a ticket!
