The American NewsGate is a news search service, which utilizes Searchito (TM), the company's one-click-away proprietary technology for remote-searching the Web. Unlike other remote-search services, the Searchito technology does not requires the use of radio buttons, checkboxes or pull-down menus but just text links. Each text link simultaneously acts as an advertisement vehicle, "search option" and "submit button".

The main feature of the gateway is the ability to query from a single input field, any newspaper listed in the gateway. According to Dr. Garcia, the Searchito technology can be incorporated into any portal or searchable site.
