Fine Art Quality Photographs Ready for Display are Available at ThePlaceForPix.com
ThePlaceForPix.com is an online site that sells fine art photographs already matted and framed.
HOBOKEN, NEW JERSEY - (Dec. 28, 2001) - If you're looking for fine art photographs to decorate your home or office, look no further than
ThePlaceForPix.com (www.theplaceforpix.com). The new Web site is the brainchild of photographer Dean Tomasula and sells pre-matted, pre-framed
photographs from his portfolio of travel, landscape and photojournalism shots.
Tomasula's portfolio includes photographs taken in Florence, Italy; Ragusa, Sicily; Malibu, California and Santa Fe, New Mexico, to name just a few of the locations he's photographed in. Offering color and black and white photos, ThePlaceForPix.com makes buying easy with an uncluttered Web site design. Photos can be ordered securely with a major credit card through
PayPal (www.paypal.com). Various sizes are available, including 8x10, 11x14 and 16x20. Each photo comes ready to display in a white mat and black gallery-style frame. Shipping and handling are always free.
The Web site consists of three galleries, the "People Gallery," "Places Gallery" and "Things Gallery." Surfing through the site is easy as each gallery is contained on its own page, with quick-loading thumbnails. To see a large version of the photo just click on a thumbnail and it will open in a separate page. The photo can be place in the shopping cart from that page. The "People Gallery" features shots of former President Bill Clinton, New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, former Mayor David Dinkins and comedian Andrew Dice Clay.
Tomasula has more than 20 years experience as a journalist and photographer and is a member of the National Press Photographers Association. His
photographs have appeared in a number of local newspapers in the New York Metro area.
"It would be nice to have my photos decorating the walls of someone else's home, rather than just my own," Tomasula said. "My family has been enjoying my photos for years, now everyone will have access to them as well."
Although there are numerous photographers' Web sites out there selling photographs, ThePlaceForPix.com stands out because Tomasula's photos are printed from the original negative or transparency on photographic paper at a professional lab. Each photograph is printed to order and matted and framed by hand.
"I don't print my photos from digital files on inkjet paper like many photographers do," he said. "I certainly could do it that way and sell my photos much cheaper, but I prefer to use the original negative and have the photos hand printed because the quality is better and I have better control over the finished product."
