PLATFORMS

Interlucent CMS is running on a Windows 2000 Server platform with a SQL Server database. Magic Earths Web server is running on an Apache/Linux platform with Chili!Soft ASP.

A FEATURE-RICH SOLUTION

To accomplish the objectives for the Magic Earth site, marketing and customer support personnel had to have the capability to create content and subsequently publish it directly to the Web site. The solution was to implement a content management system. Interlucent CMS was the perfect fit.

Today, Magic Earths new site is maintained by technical and non-technical content authors, significantly compressing its time-to-Web while requiring little dependency on external Web development resources. CMS enables Magic Earth to establish a predefined structure for the Web site and rules by which expansion of the Web site can be accomplished. It provides a graphical interface enabling administrators to add, delete, or move pages from one section of the Web site to another. Version Tracking provides the ability to rollback or republish all of the pages in the Web site. An Application Management System hosts their customized applications, plug-ins, and snap-ins, and establishes a framework for integration into subsequent pages when created. The Customer Portal is an online community where users can interact in forums to discuss common concerns related to the geophysical data analysis, and provides a wealth of up-to-date information not available from other resources. The searchable knowledgebase enables Manuals, FAQs, Tips and Tricks, White Papers, and Workflows and Tutorials to be easily maintained.
