MapShots,Inc. Acquires Software Company

Cumming, GA
January 26, 2001      For Release Feb 1, 2001.

MapShots, a software firm specializing in providing solutions for agricultural data management, announces the acquisition of the popular EASi Crops and EASi Planner software products from Engelhardt Agri-Services. MapShots is also pleased to announce that Charley Engelhardt will be joining the MapShots staff full-time as Director of Grower Solutions.

MapShots had previously aligned with Engelhardt Agri-Services to produce the EASi Map GIS extension to EASi Crops. With the acquisition of these Engelhardt Agri-Services products, MapShots positions itself as a leader in providing premiere crop management and GIS tools to the agricultural and educational communities.

Ted Macy, President of MapShots, says: "We are very fortunate to acquire a product with the stature of EASi Crops. We have built our business around providing GIS components for agricultural companies that are extending their internal software solutions with the addition of spatial capabilities. With the addition of EASi Crops to our product line, we now have the opportunity to interact directly with growers as well. And, we can now deliver a complete vertical solution to companies that want to exchange crop production data with their customers."

EASi Crops owner Charley Engelhardt is enthusiastic about the acquisition and the future opportunities he has with MapShots. This acquisition is an ideal situation for everyone involved. EASi Crops customers can be assured that the product will continue to flourish and they can look forward to exciting improvements and increased capabilities. For me personally, I am extremely pleased to be working with Ted. I consider him to be a master of mapping with no peers in the mapping arena. He has a passion that will lead MapShots in providing new levels of ease of use and increased capabilities for crop record keeping and management software."

Plans are already in place for MapShots to enhance the capabilities of EASi Crops and the other products in the EASi software suite. But at the core of all of MapShots future plans is their continued commitment to the grower, to producing excellent products, and to maintaining a leading position in technology. Macy affirms, We are committed to maintaining customer loyalty and expanding the number of growers using EASi Crops and the other quality MapShots products."

MapShots was formed in 1999. Their primary business is the development of spatial extensions for non-spatial agricultural software. Some of their customers include Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc., Deere and Company, 1st Ag, and Ag Connections, Inc.

Engelhardt Agri-Services was formed in 1982 and began development of the EASi suite of software in 1990.
