Ireland-based Baydon Solutions Establishes Global Headquarters in Boston

Boston, Mass. – February 5, 2001 – Baydon Solutions, the Dublin-based provider of knowledge delivery and e-learning solutions, today established its global headquarters in Boston thereby also providing a direct sales presence for the first time.

Established in 1995, Baydon Solutions has experienced fast growth across Europe with its
e-learning flagship product, Assistware®, which enables organizations to place all their training and support into one central repository or database. Employees benefit from ‘moment of need training and support at their desk, enabling companies to cut millions of dollars in support costs from training budgets while also improving employee morale, reducing errors, and increasing time on the job.

A year ago, U.S. corporations provided 80% of their employee training via the traditional classroom training function. With this figure expected to decline to 60% by 2003, Baydon believes its market opportunity lies in facilitating this change. Baydon targets mid- to large-sized companies who currently spend approximately $7.2 billion on training.

Baydon has also strengthened its worldwide sales presence with the addition of three sales executives lead by Michael Farmer, Vice President – Sales. Farmer brings three decades of sales and marketing experience to Baydon. Prior to joining Baydon, Farmer was Business Development Manager at Satyam Computer Services where he was in charge of all business activities across four states. He is also joined by Jim Thibeau, Business Development Manager, Northern Region, based in Boston, and Pam Bajorek, Business Development Manager, Southern Region, based in Charlotte, NC.

Prior to establishing its direct U.S. presence and headquarters, Baydon had developed U.S. alliances with partners including Human Dynamics, Inc. (HDI), Computer Associates, and PricewaterhouseCoopers. These partnerships have added methodology, training and content services to Baydons Assistware technology, enabling the company to offer ERP application, business process, desktop rollout, application training, and call center support.
